Tulsa Tech

Tulsa Tech needed to move off SharePoint to a platform staff could maintain — without losing the existing visual identity or the depth of class data linked across the site.

The situation

Tulsa Tech needed to move off SharePoint to a CMS that staff could maintain themselves. They wanted a mobile-friendly responsive site that kept the existing look and feel — and that could index the dense PDF library linked throughout their program pages.

What we did

  • Worked alongside Tulsa agency AcrobatAnt to rebuild the site on WordPress
  • Preserved the existing visual design while making everything responsive
  • Integrated with the district's SIS to dynamically populate class information
  • Implemented SOLR search to index both the page content and the PDF files linked across program pages
  • Built the front-end and theme layer with jQuery, SASS, and PHP

What happened

Tulsa Tech moved off SharePoint to a WordPress site staff can update directly. Class info populates dynamically from the SIS, and SOLR indexes both the page content and the linked PDF library so prospective students can search the entire catalog at once.

Tulsa Tech now serves more than 30,000 students annually across seven campuses — the largest career and technical education district in Oklahoma.
